وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ(٧١)

Walaqad dalla qablahum aktharu alawwaleena

71 . And verily most of the men of old went astray before them ,

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ(٧٢)

Walaqad arsalna feehim munthireena

72 . And verily We sent among them warners .

فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُنذَرِينَ(٧٣)

Faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almunthareena

73 . Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned ,

إِلَّا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ الْمُخْلَصِينَ(٧٤)

Illa AAibada Allahi almukhlaseena

74 . Save singled minded slaves of Allah .

وَلَقَدْ نَادَانَا نُوحٌ فَلَنِعْمَ الْمُجِيبُونَ(٧٥)

Walaqad nadana noohun falaniAAma almujeeboona

75 . And Noah verily prayed unto Us , and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer

وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ مِنَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظِيمِ(٧٦)

Wanajjaynahu waahlahu mina alkarbi alAAatheemi

76 . And We saved him and his household from the great distress ,

وَجَعَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُ هُمُ الْبَاقِينَ(٧٧)

WajaAAalna thurriyyatahu humu albaqeena

77 . And made his seed the survivors ,

وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الْآخِرِينَ(٧٨)

Watarakna AAalayhi fee alakhireena

78 . And left for him among the later folk ( the salutation ) :

سَلَامٌ عَلَىٰ نُوحٍ فِي الْعَالَمِينَ(٧٩)

Salamun AAala noohin fee alAAalameena

79 . Peace be unto Noah among the peoples!

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ(٨٠)

Inna kathalika najzee almuhsineena

80 . Lo! thus do We reward the good .
